Hi! My name is Simone Clarke and I am the owner and also baker/ cake decorator of ‘the icing artist’. I started my baking and decorating career many moons ago.

After 4 years as a decorator , at the age of 24, I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to buy my own franchise (EEEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!). Although this was a scary prospect I knew what I was doing with the cakes and I had support to learn the business side of things along the way.

Another four years on and I got itchy feet. I decided there was a big wide world to explore so I sold my business and headed to London where I was fortunate enough to start working at a popular London cake company. This is where I fell in love with the art of sugar craft. I was extremely lucky to work with, manage and be tutored by some of the most amazing sugar artists in the business.

I have now arrived back in Melbourne, and have decided to bring my skills to life here! I’m based in the Bayside suburbs of Melbourne and am more than happy to cater for your special occasion where ever you may be located.

My passion is creating and designing bespoke cakes to give the cake that individual touch. I hope to hear from you soon!
